well I have played for over a year now and I would like to make a few remarks about the weapons balance between the opposing factions in the game.
each side has its stengths and weaknesses, and learning to play within those takes a great deal of time get used to. However there are a few things I wish to harp on for a moment:
1) The biggest problem I have encountered is the brimestone laser (BS) on the FS assualt MAV. I chose this because of the fact that it is capable of traveling most of the way across a map almost instantley and doing 125 damage points while being hopelesly out of range of EC weaponry.
I know the typical arguement favoring this weapon as being its limited power supply. But that hardly makes a difference when facing a multitude of them at once. I can safely say that I have yet to be able to win a battle when facing more than one or 2 of them.
The EC simply have no weapons that compare to it in accuracy, range, or damage capability.
I would haope that in the future the damage done by the BS laser is reduced to 100 or less, or a mod can be made to increase the ammo and splash damage done by the artillery on the EC assault MAV.
2) EC spider missiles are too difficult to evade using flares.
Well I have heard this one time and again, and I would first like to say that because of the way in which the spider missiles fire from all around the outside of the MAV the scout must be air borne in order to get the full 80 damage points other wise half of them just slam into the dirt upon firing, and do actuall damage to the scout MAV itself and only inflicting 40 damage points to the target itself if they all hit.
This all means that in order for the EC scout to get a few good shots with its missiles it be hovering above and unable to use its cloak; in other words an easy target for auto cannon fire or FS missiles.
The spider missiles were developed as a counter measure for the BS laser, but the EC scout and its missiles are hardly a match against an FS assault with laser let alone several of them.
I see these as the primary grippes of most players in the game, and I have stated my opinion, so let the gripping begin!
